The Vision

Lillian J. Farmer

The Vision

The Vision of the Three Dimensional Mentoring came about due my previous experience in teaching African-American children who had disciplinary problems, inappropriate social skills and no direction to better equip themselves to be productive citizens in society. My goal through teaching is to dispel the myth that the majority of children with disciplinary problems and inaccurate socials skills are from single-parent homes. Through direction, children that come from single parent homes can be as productive as their counter part which come from a two-parent home. Fifty to Sixty percent of the children that I taught came from homes where there was a father and a mother.

I observed, while employed at the King’s Ranch, special needs in the African-American children. This heighten my awareness and consciousness of the need for a Mentoring Ministry. A Ministry that will provide the knowledge of Christ and a need for Christ in their lives. I believe that once a child receives the revelation of Christ in their life,it will, over a period of time produce trust, love, faith and moral values which are necessary for sustaining a healthy life.
We can build facility after facility and set up program after program, but if it’s not Christ Centered-Based on Love, which will help Discipline, Develop Character, and give them Direction to help them to be productive in Society, they will fall by the wayside. Mentoring is a Ministry of Multiplication.
When we build into the life of an individual or child, we launch a process that will never end.

What is Three Dimensional Mentoring

MOTHER TERESA OF CALCUTTA

MOTHER

“We know her for having dedicated her life to helping others, especially lepers, AIDS patients, and people living in extreme poverty. Possibly another would be the story of not having had Father Michael van der Peet as a mentor; They met while waiting for a bus in Rome and developed a great mentor / mentee friendship, helping each other develop the immense work and legacy of Mother Teresa.”
